Mountain Mutts is owner run and operated. A graduate of Nash Academy of Animal Arts, I have had the opportunity to study under the most talented, professional and caring instructors with impeccable credentials. Nash Academy uses a holistic approach to the care and grooming including skincare, diseases, hygiene, ear care and consideration for geriatric and/or pets with a history of injury and post-surgical conditions. Along with these considerations, an unparalleled respect for the dignity and safety of each and every pet is top priority. My education at Nash Academy provided me with the knowledge and methods which enable me to transform your pets “from Mutts to Magnificent”.
Prior to opening the Salon I worked in Physical Therapy for twenty-eight years. During that time, I took advantage of expanding my horizons by participating in a special section of the American Physical Therapy Association dedicated to Physical Therapy for Small Animals. This has enabled me to transfer my knowledge of Physical Therapy for people to my canine friends. I am well versed in range of motion, ultra sound, strengthening and stretching exercises, use of aquatic therapy and numerous other modalities that can be used for our canine buddies. I am certified in Canine/Feline CPR, Animal Behavior, and Massage.
The Salon is dedicated to all aspects of caring for your pet. My objective is to have all clients looking good, feeling good, staying well, having fun and looking forward to their visits to Mountain Mutts. The Salon is bright, cheery, clean and set up in an open space floor plan so that everyone can view where their cherished pets will be spending their time.
All products used are of the best quality to insure the best results. A very unique retail section and reception area is available for your browsing and comfort. Music is provided during all grooming procedures as well as a groomer that sings along for a relaxing atmosphere. Although most of my friends suggest I keep my day job, the dogs and cats seem to be appreciative of my vocal talents!
A love for animals in need has lead me to volunteer in a number of animal rescue groups over the years. I have become particularly fond of retired racing greyhounds since adopting my first one in the early 1990's.
I am a member of Pocono Greyhound Adoption, which was formed in July of 2004. It is located in the heart of the Pocono's and allows us to better reach our local community and be available to our foster and adoptive parents. Please go to the links section to find our more about our group.
